Sarah Dickens and the Faith Behind the “A Victory Song” Series

Early Dreams and Divine Timing

For Sarah Dickens, becoming an author was not a sudden decision — it was a dream planted early in life. In Kindergarten, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she answered confidently, “I want to be an author.”

That childhood declaration would later shape her entire career path.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Georgia College & State University in 2015, Sarah entered a season of waiting. It took nearly two and a half years before she stepped into a leadership role as News Editor for Atlanta Christian Voice, a Christian online news publication based in Atlanta, Georgia.

What once felt like delay, she now recognizes as divine preparation.

Leading in the Newsroom

From October 2017 to April 2022, Sarah served as News Editor for Atlanta Christian Voice. In this position, she interviewed churches, nonprofits, and Christian organizations, writing faith-centered news stories that impacted the Atlanta community.

This season refined her discipline and strengthened her editorial voice. It taught her leadership, responsibility, and the importance of excellence in storytelling.

Though she thrived in the newsroom, she sensed that this chapter was preparing her for something greater. Her editorial role became the foundation for what would soon unfold — authorship.

Writing Her First Memoir

While working as News Editor, Sarah began writing her first Christian memoir, A Victory Song: Beneath the Veil. The writing process spanned four years, from 2018 to 2022.

She rewrote, edited, and polished the manuscript tirelessly, determined to present a message that reflected both spiritual depth and literary quality. During this journey, she worked alongside a book coach who helped her structure the narrative and strengthen its outline.

In 2022, her perseverance bore fruit. A Victory Song: Beneath the Veil was officially published through Christian Faith Publishing.

This milestone marked a turning point. Feeling spiritually led, Sarah transitioned from her editorial position to focus on writing full-time.

A Foundation Built on Faith

At the core of Sarah’s journey is her unwavering faith. She openly credits God for shaping her writing ability, refining her character, and guiding her career decisions.

For Sarah, writing is more than a profession — it is a calling. Each chapter she writes reflects obedience, trust, and gratitude. She believes that every season — whether waiting, leading, or transitioning — served a divine purpose.

Rather than measuring success solely by publication milestones, she takes pride in the personal growth she has experienced. The development of her writing style, confidence, and spiritual maturity stands as her greatest accomplishment.
